Local coordinators serve as the first point of contact and support for students, host families and schools. Providing personal support and connecting with potential host families within their own communities, they are the heart of our programs. Coordinators are trained by United Studies and have on going support. They are paid on a contractor basis with bonus and travel incentives, and place as many students as they would like. Local Coordinators learn about other cultures, forge rewarding relationships, and promote intercultural understanding.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and vet volunteer host families within your local community
- Build relationships with local high schools
- Provide ongoing support and supervision for students, host families, and schools throughout the 10 month exchange journey
- Complete monthly check-ins, reports, orientations, and in person visits as required by regulations
- Serve as the cheerleader when exchange is going well or the insurance policy when times are challenging

- Mentor high school students from across the globe
- Detail-oriented and able to complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills
