Globaltech, Inc. is a design-build company of engineers and contractors that serves primarily municipal water and wastewater utilities. We are currently seeking dynamic, team-oriented individual to play key roles in our growing South Florida firm. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with experience in the water and wastewater utility sector to join our team. This role is responsible for the design, specification, and implementation of process control systems for municipal and water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Job Duties
- Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems. Evaluate existing power and control systems. Analyze needs and determine electrical system requirements to meet NEC, Building Department Codes, and safety regulations.
- Design electrical distribution systems (motor control centers, transformers, duct banks, conduit, wire, etc.) and instrumentation and control systems (remote input/output panels, program logic controllers, signal wires, etc.).
- Perform engineering calculations and design.
- Conduct engineering evaluation and studies.
- Interact with vendors, subcontractors, and subconsultants on behalf of the company
- Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, drawings and maps
- Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility
- Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation
- Prepare engineering reports, permit applications, and engineering services during construction.
- Assist in the commissioning of equipment.
- Mentor junior Engineers as required
- Assist senior Engineers as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited program preferred)
- PE License required
- 3-7 years of experience in utility electrical systems (Water/Wastewater a plus)
- Experience with SCADA, PLC Systems, Power Distribution
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric PLC/HMI platforms
- Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, NFPA codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (now or in the future)
