Description: The Handyman/Carpenter is part of the rebuild/reconstruction team, responsible primarily for performing the manual labor required to do restoration, reconstruction and rebuilding of property damage that has resulted from water, fire, flood, storm, trauma, or other sources. This position may assist the Mitigation Department with the first response mitigation of damaged properties.

  • Perform rebuild services, which may include (but not limited to): drywall, paint, trim carpentry, windows & door installation, etc.
  • Document and record (notes and photos) work performed in project management software
  • Setup, use, and take down equipment necessary to perform tasks
  • May include, but not limited to: screw guns, nailers, hammers, saws, etc.
  • Ability to complete work orders and work with project managers
  • Clean debris from job sites

Compensation: $52,000.00 - $76,960.00/YR DOE


Schedule:

  • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday
  • Weekends as needed, based on job tasks and needs

Requirements:

  • Current, Valid, Driver’s License is Required
  • Driving record must be clear and insurable through current company insurance provider.
  • Certifications in construction industry helpful, not required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of general construction experience is required
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, etc. is helpful

Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of the job may include, but are not limited to:

  • Heavy lifting; ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Visual assessment of site for photographs and videos
  • Stamina to work long shifts
  • High-energy
  • Bending, stooping, sitting, crouching, walking, lifting, carrying, standing, stair or ladder ascension and descent, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, balancing (such as required on scaffold), and more as required for each job.
