Job Description

Job DescriptionImagine This

A production line pauses. You arrive with a clear plan: validate a 4–20 mA loop, confirm feedback on a position sensor, push updated parameters to a VFD, and adjust the HMI so operators can monitor the fix. Minutes later, the line is back up—running to spec. That’s the difference you’ll make at Novolex.

Who We Are

Novolex creates packaging solutions in paper, plastic, and sustainable materials for customers across foodservice, retail, healthcare, and industry. Our three sustainability pillars—products, operations, and people—guide how we design, manufacture, and improve.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the electrical and electronic integrity of industrial equipment: troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and optimize systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, machine operators, and maintenance teammates to resolve issues and elevate performance.
  • Execute preventive/corrective maintenance, new installs, upgrades, and facility changes; log work and parts consumption in writing or through CMMS.
  • Diagnose PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, AC/DC drives, temperature controls, and computer-based systems.
  • Program and set up machinery to meet product requirements and specifications.
  • Contribute to and refine manufacturing work instructions and process-flow documentation.
  • Program, modify, transfer, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and VFD applications.
  • Assemble/disassemble and maintain electro-mechanical systems—manual and automated—using schematics, engineering drawings, and written/verbal direction.
  • Run/bend conduit, mount boxes, pull feeds, and perform terminations to code.
  • Perform bench diagnostics: rebuild, repair, and test offline components for spares; red-tag and notify lead/supervisor when replacement or third-party repair is required.
  • Work safely, accurately, and independently—keeping composure and speed when pressure rises.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance Certification, or 3+ years as an industrial electrician with mechanical experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring at 120/277/480 VAC and 3‑phase.
  • PLC exposure; experience with Allen‑Bradley platforms and RSLogix is a plus.
  • Experience with VFDs, DC, and servo drive systems.
  • Process control expertise including 4–20 mA loops, positioning feedback, and analog controls.
  • Experience with temperature control systems.
  • Strong background in industrial electrical systems maintenance.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Why You’ll Thrive Here

If you enjoy turning complex symptoms into clear, lasting fixes—and documenting the know-how so the next shift moves faster—you’ll fit right in and make a measurable impact.
