Job Description

As a Shipping and Material Handler, you play an essential role in packing all necessary production, repair or spare products that come to Finished Goods whilebeing able to process them through a computer to ship out.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Pack all incoming units to Finished Goods following Material Instructions and using BarTrac for Bar Code scanning to insure all accessories are accounted for.

• Computer processing thru ERP as well as UPS- FEDX – or LTL carrier.

• Pack using pallets, edge protectors and strapping.

• Maintain supplies needed for packing a variety of models.

• Maintain Maintenance Logs for equipment used for packing.

• Must adhere to all Safety and Company regulations, including safety glasses and steel toe shoes.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SHIPPING AND MATERIAL HANDLER

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• One year related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)

• Forklift or reach stacker may be required to store/retrieve specific shipping supplies or to replenish

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Ability to log in, log out, and easily navigate through MS Windows-based interface.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

SALARY RANGE

The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $18.00 to $20.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
