A Registered Nurse with experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing is sought for a contract assignment in Oneida, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work in a specialized surgical environment focusing on adult cardiac care with a supportive and dynamic team.
Schedule/Hours:
- 10-hour shifts (9.5 hours working plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Variable days, either 06:30 to 16:30 or 07:00 to 17:00
- On-call duties minimum of 7 days per four-week schedule, including 5 weeknights and at least 1 weekend day, depending on staffing needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a 2-bed CVOR unit
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system and Omnicell medication management technology
- Maintain safe patient-to-nurse ratios (1:1) and adapt to floating assignments when census is low
- Manage common cardiac diagnoses including coronary artery disease, aortic stenosis, and mitral regurgitation
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associates degree
- Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
