Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Microbiologist/Mycology professional located in Linden, NJ. The role involves conducting microbiological testing, analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and documenting results. The candidate will also oversee quality control and quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory protocols. The selected candidate will contribute to improving laboratory processes and methodologies and will work closely with the team to uphold the lab’s high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Shift is Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6:30 pm.
Qualifications
- Proficient in core Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, media preparation, and interpretation of results
- Experience with Laboratory Equipment, including calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in Microbiology, with a focus on mycology techniques and fungal identification
- Experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Expertise in Mycology is essential
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Microbiology, Laboratory Technology, or related field; certification in medical technology or microbiology is a plus
- Familiarity with CLIA standards and other relevant regulatory guidelines is highly beneficial
