About the Opportunity

Accounting Intern

David Zwirner seeks a dynamic Accounting Intern at its HQ in Chelsea, NYC. This role will support the Finance team by working closely with all levels, gaining exposure to financial reporting, analysis and various accounting tasks, and reports to the Global Controller.

Qualified candidates should be highly personable, organized, motivated, and responsible, with an interest in gaining experience in the daily operations of a contemporary art gallery.

What you'll do:

  • Assist Accounting Manager with balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support Accounts Payable with vendor statement reconciliations.
  • Help complete bank reconciliations.
  • Aid with document retrieval for year-end audit.
  • Support with credit card reconciliations.
  • Provide assistance to the Tax Manager with document retrieval for sales tax compliance.
  • Assist Global Controller on ad-hoc projects.

What we would like you to have:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in accounting.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Winter/Spring internship runs from January through April. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, 3 days a week, and there is no option for remote work. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of 3 months. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.
