We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Montessori Teacher to guide our 3½–6-year-old classroom, bringing joy, structure, and purposeful learning to a new generation of students. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a model classroom with full administrative support and access to high-quality Montessori materials.
Your Role as Lead Teacher
As a Lead Montessori Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a calm, inspiring learning environment rooted in Montessori philosophy. You will guide children through developmentally appropriate lessons, foster independence and curiosity, and maintain strong relationships with families and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with Montessori principles.
- Observe, guide, and assess children’s progress in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and stimulating classroom that reflects AMS standards.
- Ensure students' safety and well-being during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Communicate professionally and warmly with parents through regular updates and conferences.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure a cohesive classroom environment.
- Attend and complete at least 10 hours of annual professional development (provided by NHMA).
- Support children with bathroom routines (note: this age group is toilet-trained; no diapering required).
Qualifications
Required:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Preferred:
- Montessori certification or experience
- OR high school diploma + minimum 4 years of teaching experience + Montessori certification
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work full-time between 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
- Ability to pass FBI fingerprinting and all required child safety background clearances
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $35,000–$43,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)
- Paid Breaks: 30 minutes for 6-hour shifts, 45 minutes for 8-hour shifts, also receive overtime for hours worked beyond 40/wk
