Construction Manager/Senior Construction Manager/
Water/Wastewater Infrastructure (California)
Metric-Geo is recruiting on behalf of a top 10 general contractor in the water/wastewater sector.
We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Managers of all levels, to join a leading construction management services (CMS) team, supporting critical infrastructure projects across California. This role offers the opportunity to work with one of the most respected names in the industry, delivering complex water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project teams and consultants to ensure construction aligns with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, and client expectations.
- Manage all phases of construction projects: procurement, bidding, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, start-up, and close-out.
- Serve as the primary interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and oversight representatives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned regions or client portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with all project, company, and client policies and procedures.
- Oversee construction management activities including contract administration, scheduling, change order management, and quality assurance.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Evaluate contractor cost proposals and develop preliminary cost estimates.
- Supervise internal staff and external consultants on assigned projects.
- Approve purchase requisitions, change requests, and other project documentation within authority limits.
- Promote and enforce safety standards and practices across all project activities.
- Represent the company at industry networking events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects (e.g., treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, tunnels).
- At least 5 years in a leadership role involving client engagement, business development, project delivery, and team supervision.
- CCM or PMP certification required (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).
- Deep understanding of construction methods, union labor agreements, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets and profitability.
- Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking.

- Salary Range: $140,000 – $220,000/year (commensurate with experience)
