Job Description
The Press Operator sets up Halm 6” Super Jet, Halm 3” Jet and Halm 4 color jet presses. This requires adjusting the machine to envelope size ordered, consistent quality of envelopes being printed and minor repairs. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)
Essential Position Functions:
- Set-up Halm Jets to various envelope sizes based on job jacket information.
- Blend PMS spot colors on GFI dispenser to match referenced target on SpotOn Color software.
- Maintain water and ink balance for repeatable PMS color match thru the entire job.
- Experienced printing 1 color to 4 color spot, halftones, vignettes, duotones, and four-color process.
- Make size change, plate change, and color change to the set-up standards.
- Ensure that the machine is running at the target run speed standards based on envelope size, print coverage and copy complexity.
- Continuously monitor the printing quality of the envelopes to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Change water and fountain chemistry in the Baldwin water tank regularly to maintain proper conductivity between 1000 and 1500 µS.
- Routinely check that all ink fountain roller settings are set to factory specifications.
- Conduct all the daily routine maintenance of all equipment.
- Participate in all scheduled maintenance of assigned Halm Jet presses.
- Participate in all scheduled maintenance of assigned Baldwin water tanks.
- Communicate all issues on the presses and auxiliary equipment to management and press lead.
- Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates art-school degree in graphics preferred but not required.
- 2-4 years Halm Jet 3”, Halm Jet 6” and Halm Jet 4 color experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

- Employee works primarily in a manufacturing production environment.
