Water Quality Sampler
$23.00/Hour
6+ Month Contract
Flexible schedule needed. Hours will be between 8-5 and sometimes 10-7 based on what is being done. Some weekend hour might be needed.
HS Diploma/GED or equivalent required
Working towards or has obtained an Associates or Bachelors preferred in Environmental Science or related fields.
Will need to drive company car on occasion to pick up samples.
Responsible for sampling, analysis, and execution of tasks associated with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). These tasks include, but are not limited to, organizing, investigating, planning, scheduling, collecting, analyzing and delivering samples to a certified laboratory. Responsible for accurate completion, maintenance and delivering all sample collection documentation and samples to the designated party. Ensure meticulous utilization, maintenance, updating, modification, verification and cross referencing of all utilized databases, software systems and spreadsheets.
- Provide professional, efficient and effective responses to customer water quality concerns through comprehensive communication, scheduling, sample collection, as well as other qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently organize, develop, maintain and execute a daily schedule in response to customer concerns utilizing provided software applications.
- Possess flexibility in working hours to accommodate and respond to customer concerns within specified timeframes.
- Prepare necessary sample bottles, sampling kits/coolers and chains of custody for sample collection, internal processing and submission to a certified laboratory.
- Be capable of analyzing collected samples for various water quality parameters.
- Implement corrective actions to address customer concerns through communication and collaboration with water quality management and other departments.
- Prepare and maintain all required documentation and reports of the analysis.
- Conduct compliance or process related bacteriological and chemical sample collection and/or analyses as required by federal and state regulatory agencies.
- Enter customer premises to accurately determine material of the customer owned water service lines.
- Assist in the identification of the material of company owned service lines.
