A hospital in Middlebury, VT is seeking a mid-level Plant Operations Director to oversee the physical operations and facilities management of the organization. This is an on-site role requiring regular in-person presence at the facility. Partial relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
The role. The Plant Operations Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of all facilities and plant operations functions, including maintenance systems, regulatory compliance, and safety management. This individual will drive business strategy implementation, cost controls, and productivity enhancements while navigating a complex, compliance-driven healthcare environment. The position requires strong team leadership and the ability to prioritize competing operational demands.
What we're looking for.
- 5 years of Facilities Leadership experience required
- Basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, hazardous material, and safety management experience required
- Thorough understanding of healthcare facility regulations and compliance
- Excellent communication and team-building skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and comfort with business strategy implementation, cost controls, productivity enhancement, and operating in a politically sensitive environment
- Preferred: Healthcare facility experience
- Preferred: CHFM certification — American Hospital Association Certified Healthcare Facility Manager
- Preferred: College education in maintenance, or technical education in a building trade with State licensure
Compensation. $106,000 - $160,000 per year
