  • Perform routine and ad hoc site visits, safety rounds, and environmental risk assessments across BHSN locations
  • Deliver safety education and training to staff and individuals served to reduce identified risks
  • Identify health and safety concerns specific to behavioral health settings and recommend practical improvements
  • Promote a culture of shared responsibility for safety through communication, engagement, and ongoing learning
  • Serve as a resource to staff and supervisors on safety best practices, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate and document emergency preparedness activities, drills, and safety checks
  • Assist with emergency plans, evacuation procedures, and safety signage
  • Monitor environmental safety conditions and collaborate with appropriate departments to address concerns
  • Participate in the organizational Safety Committee and act as a liaison between programs, facilities, and leadership
  • Assist with internal audits, mock surveys, and quality improvement initiatives related to safety and risk management
  • Support corrective action planning and follow-up for safety findings, incidents, and survey recommendations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred (equivalent education and experience may be considered)
  • One to two years of experience in workplace safety, behavioral health, healthcare, or human services preferred, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey safety expectations, findings, and recommendations
  • Ability to observe environments, identify safety concerns, and accurately document findings
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across programs and departments in a behavioral health setting
  • Basic proficiency with data tracking, reporting tools, and standard office software

What’s in it for you?

  • Generous benefits, including personalized health coverage, paid time off, and holiday pay
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact within your community while supporting the safety and well-being of others
  • An accessible leadership team committed to your growth, with coaching and ongoing training opportunities
  • BHSN University, offering continuous learning, mentorship, and internal education to support professional development
  • A rapidly growing organization with opportunities for career advancement
