Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager specializing in Construction and Build Control to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with quality standards. Your proactive approach will help streamline project workflows, manage documentation, and facilitate communication among stakeholders. Duties

  • Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using construction management software such as Microsoft Projects.
  • Support project coordination efforts by liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
  • Monitor construction site activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and review construction estimates using tools like HeavyBid and other estimating software to support budgeting processes.
  • Track project progress through regular site visits, inspections, and documentation using tools for digital collaboration.
  • Assist in managing contracts, change orders, and procurement processes to keep projects within scope and budget.
  • Contribute to project reporting by compiling progress reports, risk assessments, and issue logs for stakeholder updates.
  • Support project managers in coordinating schedules, resources, and timelines to meet project milestones effectively.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of experience on live construction projects.
  • Proven experience with construction management software
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and contract management practices.
  • Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to develop realistic timelines and monitor progress proactively.
  • Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with diverse teams including contractors, clients, and suppliers.
  • Exceptional time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with construction management principles including contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation.
