The Division of Transplantation within the Department of Surgery at our medical center is looking to hire an Academic Multiorgan Transplant Surgeon at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate will have expertise in kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation. Clinical responsibilities will primarily involve adult liver and kidney transplants, with a significant emphasis on minimally invasive nephrectomy techniques. Additional duties may include performing general surgery procedures on transplant patients and potentially engaging in hepatobiliary surgery. A commitment to participating in both undergraduate and graduate medical education is essential.
Applicants must be board eligible or certified in general surgery and hold a valid medical license in Illinois prior to their start date. Candidates should have completed an ASTS-approved fellowship and fulfill UNOS criteria for liver and kidney transplant surgeons. Familiarity with UNOS criteria for pancreas transplantation is also preferred. The chosen candidate will be expected to engage in clinical care, educational activities, research, and service to the university.
This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes:
- Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
