Local CDL Class A Truck Driver
Location: Erwin, NC
Schedule: Tuesday – Friday | 4:00 AM start (until route completion)
Pay: $18.50 – $20.00 per hour
Please note that this position could be short term.
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Local CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. This position involves local deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of goods while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned and leased CDL Class A vehicles for local deliveries and pickups
- Ensure safe, timely, and accurate transportation of products
- Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork and logs in a timely manner
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during all deliveries
- Communicate any delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies to dispatch
- Operate material handling equipment (MHE) as needed
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and proper care of assigned equipment and vehicles
- Report to work on time and maintain consistent attendance
- Meet productivity and delivery goals efficiently
- Work overtime as needed (40+ hours per week)
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment
- Must wear non-slip steel toe boots
