General Purpose of the Position
Tellers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service including efficient and accurate transaction processing. This includes presenting and explaining bank products and services to customers, receiving or paying out funds with high accuracy; maintaining transactional records; and providing cash receipt and payment services in accordance with bank’s policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provides prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing transactions including accepting retail and /or commercial deposits, loan payments, process checking and savings account withdrawals and verifying cash and endorsements.
- Provide additional products and services including Cashier’s Checks, Money Orders, Credit Card Cash Advances and safe deposit boxes entrance.
- Maintain knowledge of bank products and services.
- Consistently provide excellent customer service and identify customers’ financial needs.
- Seek opportunities to refer customers to other lines of business within the bank
- Answer customer inquires and refer customers to the proper service area for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
- Represent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers, and co-workers.
- Promote the bank’s products and services.
- Any other duties as needed to drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission and abide by the Values of this organization.
Risk Management
- Maintain individual cash within policy limits.
- Prepare individual daily balance of teller cash transactions as well as other reports as necessary.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all customer information obtained.
- Adhere to Bank policies, procedures, regulations and security standards.
The Teller assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Sales, cashier, or other money-handling experience desired.
- Knowledge of BSA and other applicable regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees.
- Strong organizational and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.

This job operates in an office and/or banking services environment. - This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- This role requires long periods of standing while tending to customers.
- Some filing is required; this would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
- This position requires frequent verbal and written communication skills
- This position requires basic math skills to calculate formulas, commissions, discounts, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
