As an Emergency Room Nurse Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) at our Bellevue FSED, your insights and contributions to patient care are highly valued and encouraged. You will have opportunities to engage in open, collaborative relationships with your direct supervisor, as well as participate in formal initiatives through hospital councils and national nursing programs. Job Overview and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby supporting an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engages in the continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
  • Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
  • Champions a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Assists in enhancing staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care requirements and established productivity standards.
  • Ensures proper inventory management and aids in the oversight of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed within 30 days of starting employment.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) experience in an emergency room setting is required.
  • An Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma is necessary.
