Drivers will haul intermodal containers across Midwest lanes with freight tied heavily to Chicago rail yard operations.

Route & Freight Details

• Regional runs across:
  • MN, IA, WI, IL
• Freight flow:
  • ~85% connected to Chicago rail yards
• Average:
  • ~1,900 miles per week
• Freight includes:
  • Intermodal containers on chassis
• 100% no-touch freight
• Mix of:
  • ~75% drop & hook
  • ~25% live load/unload

Schedule

• Tuesday – Saturday
• OFF Sunday & Monday
• Drivers choose a consistent start time each week
• Home weekly (34-hour reset)

Predictable schedule with consistent routing

Pay & Compensation

• Avg Weekly Pay: $1,550–$1,850
• Avg Annual Pay: $80,000 – $98,000

Mileage Pay:

• $0.59 – $0.64 CPM

Additional Pay:

• $35 drop & hook pay
• $65 live load/unload pay

Equipment & Work Setup

• Sleeper trucks (mostly automatic Freightliners)
• Governed speeds:
  • 62 MPH pedal / 65 MPH cruise
• Intermodal chassis equipment
• Must park at terminal if within hiring radius

Training

• Paid online orientation
• $250/day training pay
• Approx. 2-week training period

Work Environment

• No-touch freight = minimal physical labor
• Consistent intermodal freight = steady income
• Mix of day/night driving depending on schedule

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• Minimum 3 months of tractor-trailer experience required
• Must be able to:
  • Work scheduled shifts consistently
  • Handle regional intermodal freight
  • Maintain reliable performance on dedicated lanes
