Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role focuses on inpatient pharmacy services within a large county health system known for its comprehensive network of hospitals and outpatient clinics. Candidates with a strong inpatient background, ideally those who have completed a PGY1 residency or have approximately two years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience, are highly desired.
Location: Santa Ana, CA
Employment Type: Contract, with the potential for temp-to-hire placement in a permanent position within the county health system.
Schedule:
- Primarily 8-hour shifts
- Flexibility to work first and second shifts required, with occasional third shifts
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services in an inpatient setting
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all hospital and regulatory standards
- Participate in pharmacy operations and support the departments needs efficiently
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- PGY1 residency preferred; candidates with ~2 years of current inpatient pharmacy experience will be considered
- Eligibility and willingness to pass a competency exam (critical for continuation in the role)
- Successful clearance of background checks and fingerprinting (Livescan)
- Flexibility to adapt to varying shift schedules
Contract Details:
- The contract period may last approximately 4 to 12 months
- The hiring process includes on-site interviews and onboarding that takes roughly 8 to 10 weeks
- Contract pharmacists are often placed on a temp-to-hire track leading to permanent employment opportunities within the health system
