Job DescriptionJob Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description

The Quality Inspector position is responsible for inspecting products for conformance to specifications and dimensions. The role specifically involves working with Aerospace Honeycomb Seals used in turbines and other aircraft components. The successful candidate will conduct inspections focusing on weld integrity, open nods, final inspections (ICR), dimensional, and visual assessments. Familiarity with GD&T is essential for performing these tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, follow, and execute Quality Policy, System Procedures, and Operations Manuals.
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Use inspection planning tools and perform product audits.
  • Assist Quality Engineers by performing dimensional and visual inspection of returned parts and compiling all necessary documentation for C & CA procedures.
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of statistical terms and techniques (SPC); ability to plot data and recognize out-of-control conditions.
  • Conduct inspections using measuring tools such as Calipers and Micrometers.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of quality inspection experience.
  • Aerospace, Mechanical, or Machining type Quality Experience.
  • Ability to pass customer-required DQR classes.
  • Proficiency in using Calipers, Micrometers, and Dimensional Inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of Blueprint interpretation and Visual Inspection techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Experience with First Article Inspection.
  • Familiarity with Optical Comparator.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
