Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A School-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the upcoming academic year in a K-12 setting located in Lumberton, NC. This contract role offers an opportunity to support students communication needs under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing speech and language therapy plans for students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, teachers, and other school personnel to monitor student progress
- Prepare materials and support individual or group therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student data
- Support inclusive classroom activities to enhance communication skills
Qualifications:
- Current SLPA certification/license as required by state regulations
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a K-12 educational environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to follow therapy plans and work under supervision
- Patience and enthusiasm for supporting student development
