Job Description
The Sr. Production Manager is responsible for developing and monitoring the production staff and manufacturing environment to meet organizational goals and customer requirements.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and develop production planners.
- Communicate staffing needs to the Plant Manager to determine the appropriate labor required to meet production requirements.
- Planning and scheduling production responsibilities
- Monitor production planner performance to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Review and assess employee performance and make the appropriate changes as required.
- Plan current and future needs of equipment, tools, and resources.
- Assess work order volumes to plan and determine capacity and resource requirements.
- Ensure production control requirements are clearly communicated to the shop floor.
- Ensure delivery and quality performance of all products.
- Ensure production control personnel plans and schedules orders and communicates lead times internally and with customers.
- Ensure Quality and Safety procedures and policies to maintain ISO compliance.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in all production areas of the facility.
- Review KPIs and make changes as necessary to accomplish organizational goals.
- Comply with the organization’s Integrated (Quality, Environmental and Safety) Policy and all other safety and health and environmental practices, programs, and procedures.
- Participate in the Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management
- System (EMS/OHSMS) by reporting incidents or near misses, reporting problems and recommending improvements, and other related activities.
- Successfully complete required environmental and health & safety (OHSMS) training.
- Stop work immediately if you consider conditions or work methods to be unsafe or environmentally unsound and notify your manager of the problem.
- Work with the maintenance personnel to plan maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field
- 5-10 experience in metal fabrication with progressive leadership experience
- Understanding of metal fabrication processes, blueprints, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in project management software
- A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organizational structures.
- A strategic and analytical mindset.
- An excellent communicator with top-notch presentation skills.
- A thorough understanding of the latest process enhancement strategies.
- Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership and mentoring skills.
- Confidence in your abilities to lead organizational change.
- Spanish is a plus
