Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-5 Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Washington, DC, for the current school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on providing specialized instructional support within a public charter school setting, serving a caseload of approximately 10 students through both push-in and pull-out services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs in grades K-5.
  • Implement tailored educational plans addressing varied learning requirements and goals.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, staff, and administrators to support student success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with families and school personnel.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid DC Special Education teaching license.
  • Experience working with K-5 students in a special education setting.
  • Skilled in employing both push-in and pull-out instructional methods.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 10 students effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with current special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
