Our trusted client a boutique tax and advisory firm in Riverton, NJ, seeks a Senior Tax Associate to manage complex tax compliance and planning for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations, and businesses. This role combines technical expertise with personalized client service, emphasizing collaboration with the firm’s legal team to deliver integrated solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Strategic Planning: Prepare and review federal, state, and international tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and private foundations. Analyze financial statements, reconcile book-to-tax differences, and manage IRS/state audits. Develop strategies to minimize liabilities through charitable giving, GRATs, and family limited partnerships, aligning with estate planning and business succession goals.
- Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a curated portfolio of multi-generational families, and business owners referred through our exclusive legal practice. Conduct annual planning meetings, address liquidity events, and collaborate with external advisors (e.g., investment managers) to optimize tax outcomes.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work alongside estate and corporate attorneys in Riverton’s office to structure cross-border investments, audit defenses, and philanthropic vehicles. Mentor junior staff and lead training on tax legislation updates, such as SECURE 2.0 and state pass-through entity taxes.
Qualifications
Essential Credentials
- CPA Certification: Active licensure in NJ or PA.
- Experience: 7+ years in public accounting or family offices, with expertise in Schedule E, Form 8825, and multi-state filings.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Lacerte, CCH Axcess, or similar and advanced Excel.
