*This is a West Allis, WI onsite job based opportunity.*

Summary

The Permit Project Manager manages the delivery of Steele Solutions documentation in relation to platform projects for the permitting process which includes, purchase orders, stamped drawings and calculations, and other miscellaneous supporting documentation. The Permit Manager also supports the Slab Analysis process and other auxiliary services as assigned supporting the delivery process through meticulous planning, implementation, documentation, coordination and communication.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Track schedule and completion of slab analysis, permit drawing and calculation submissions to the Customer.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Drafters, Clerks, and Inventory Control for the Calc Request and Slab Analysis process.
  • Request Quotes from, submit Purchase Orders to, and approve Invoices from Consulting Engineers for engineering services, reviewing and stamping drawings, calculations, and misc letters.
  • Compile and organize digital and physical documents for preparing submittal packages to the Customer and Consulting Engineers.
  • Assist Project Engineers in preparing documentation for responses to City Plan Reviewer’s review of submittal packages.
  • Aide Project Engineers/Estimators in researching local code and ordinances for preparing initial design documents and maintain a database of deviations from national standards, codes or specifications.
  • Complete and prepare forms and letters for permit applications, inspections, and occupancy sign-off.
  • Communicate with Customers and City Building officials in meetings, virtually and in-person, and via email.

Education and/or Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management, Industrial Construction Management or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of previous Project Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Material Handling industry is desired
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes highly preferred
  • Familiarity with project management & collaboration software; such as Microsoft Project
  • Proven results within a high competency/high assertive sale driven environment
  • Knowledge of building codes and permitting processes is preferred.


General Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required. Excellent Excel skills are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills- verbal, written and presentation
  • Strong time management skills: Ability to prioritize, complete tasks with a high level of accuracy, and be attentive to detail in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong problem solving/ analytical skills
  • Solid collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Ability to be decisive, self-driven, and establish credibility while supporting company priorities.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally 30-40% of the time


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and vendors.

Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
