Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A physical therapist opportunity is available to provide essential support within a K-12 school setting, specifically covering multiple sites from PreK to high school populations. This itinerant role involves providing therapeutic services to approximately 55 students with physical and multiple disabilities ranging from mild to severe.
Location: Aurora, CO
Duration: Contract through the current school year
Schedule: Full-time hours during leave coverage (April 6 May 22)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services across six school sites, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
- Utilize pediatric mobility equipment effectively to support student mobility and participation.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapy assistants (PTAs) assigned to the three largest schools.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification in Physical Therapy.
- Previous experience working within Colorado school systems.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and pediatric mobility equipment.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload across multiple school sites.
