PSD Automotive Group is a growing automotive dealer group seeking an experienced and highly organized Automotive Controller to lead and manage the financial operations of our dealership. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with factory and state requirements, and providing structure and support to the accounting office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all daily accounting operations and accounting staff
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with manufacturer, lender, and state standards
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and related schedules
  • Implement, maintain, and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard dealership assets
  • Conduct regular audits of financial data, schedules, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate weekly with department managers to review financial performance and address operational needs
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, reinforcing proper double-entry bookkeeping practices
  • Prepare, review, and submit all required sales tax reports and payments accurately and on time
  • Monitor daily bank balances, floorplan activity, and floorplan compliance
  • Serve as a financial resource to management, providing insight and recommendations for continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Dealership Controller
  • Strong understanding of automotive dealership accounting processes
  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and reconciliations
  • Proficiency with dealership accounting systems; CDK experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience with factory financial reporting and compliance
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing accounting staff
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Professional demeanor with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
