  • Function as a leader in healthcare to improve organizational outcomes.
  • Demonstrate advanced professional competence in a specialized area of nursing practice.
  • Influence care outcomes by providing expert consultation and implementing improvements in patient care delivery.
  • Lead in the development of nursing practice that incorporates established national specialty practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize interdisciplinary frameworks, outcomes from nursing and healthcare research, and best practices to impact patient care delivery.
  • Advance technology that supports efficient and effective patient care.
  • Serve in key roles including practitioner, educator, leader, consultant, and researcher.
  • Focus on patient care and staff practice within the specialty patient population.
  • Collaborate system-wide with nursing, service lines, and other patient care departments.

Experience you will need: Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (APRN) - Emergency Department

  • Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Oregon Advanced Practice - Clinical Nurse Specialist License upon hire.
  • Certification as Clinical Nurse Specialist in area of specialty upon hire.
  • Certification in area of specialty (e.g., CEN, CCRN) upon hire.
  • Three (3) years of experience in area of specialty (Emergency Department).
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in teaching adult learners.
  • Preferred: 2 years of Clinical Nurse Specialist experience.
