We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join us in our Unit Assembly and Materials teams to be responsible for developing, evaluating, and optimizing our manufacturing processes while ensuring production efficiency and adherence to quality standards.

Day to Day:

  • Design and implement assembly processes for industrial compressors in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout using Lean methodologies.
  • Apply plant layout and material flow principles, including warehousing fundamentals.
  • Specify, procure, and coordinate installation of material handling equipment (e.g. jibs, cranes) and other necessary tools, materials and gaging.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods by leveraging knowledge of product design, materials, tooling, equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality standards.
  • Create detailed work instructions and train shop floor personnel on production processes.
  • Review product designs for manufacturing and completeness.
  • Utilize statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and identify root causes of failures, recommending design or process changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Support new product development to ensure manufacturability.
  • Maintain and update plant layout drawings.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design and engineering software. (We use SolidWorks)
  • Lean manufacturing experience; Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline development and progress tracking.
  • Experience estimating costs for new products and tooling.

Skills

  • Ability to interpret documents and schematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, instructions and team training.
  • Competence in statistical analysis and mathematics.
  • Self-directed with excellent problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work on the manufacturing floor and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday.
  • Must work safely in sensitive areas.
