GENERAL FUNCTIONS:The Mental Health Clinical is an integral part of our service team andisresponsibleforprovidingintegratedservicesfor clients experiencingbehavioral health needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides a broad spectrum of therapeutic assessment, treatment, and referral services to diverse behavioral health clients, including children, adolescents,adultsand families.
- Conducts comprehensive behavioral health assessments, encompassing integrated mental health and substance use evaluations. This includes precise diagnosis according to DSM guidelines, determiningappropriate levelsof care based on ASAM criteria, and formulating treatmentplans andservice recommendations.
- Conduct therapeutic groups to include, didactic, process, and experiential/expressive activities.
- Provide clinical focused individual sessions to include intensive case management.
- Participantsinclinical team meetings to ensure clinical service provided areappropriateand adhere to the written treatment plan.
- Ensure support, advocacy, referral, and case management services toincludedomestic violence/sexual assault/human traffickingsurvivors
- Work withstaffto create, implement,monitor, and update individual safetyplans.
- Ensures personal clinical records adhere to CARF, State, Federal, and Ethical guidelines in terms of accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Networks with other providers to help survivors access community resources
- Maintain relationships with all partnering agencies and referral sources.
- Uponrequest,providetraining,mentorshipand clinicaldirectionsto My House staff
- Other duties and tasks as negotiated.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- MastersDegree in Social work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or
Substance Abuse/Addiction Counseling.
- Three(3)years ofproviding servicesin the Behavioral HealthandSUD field.
- Working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed practices.
- If in recovery must be in remission fortwo (2) yearsand working a program of recovery
- Alaska Chemical DependencyCounselor Certification (CDC II)is workingtowards a (CDCS)in accordance withState requirements.
- Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal
background check, approved National Provider Identifier Standard (NPI) status, and
state Approval as a Qualified Addictions Professional (QAP) or a Provisional (QAP)
- Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable underMy Housevehicle
insurance
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed infieldofexpertise.
- Certified EMDR provider
- Certified trauma specialist.
- Alaska Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification (CDCS)
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certified111
- Current NPI and QAP
- SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Proficient in consumer intake processes,encompassinginterviews, assessments, DSM criteria, ASAM Patient Placement Criteria, and referrals.
- Possesses knowledge of substance use and behavioral health disorders.
- Expertiseand experience in program development involving trauma informed approaches to the assessment and treatment of behavioral health disordersinadolescents, and adults.
- Familiarity and/or experience in the fields ofDV, SA, Human Trafficking and Commercial Sex Exploitation
- Skilled in building andmaintaininginterpersonal relationships, effective communication, and collaborative teamwork.
- Knowledgeable about HIPAA/42CFRregulations and adept at safeguarding client privacy.
- Capable of evaluating and delivering effective emergency services for individuals in behavioral health crisis.
- Capable ofmaintainingaccuraterecords and producingtimelyand precise written reports.
