Job Title: Medical Assistant
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some flexibility for opening and closing procedures
Compensation: $20 – $24.75 per hour
Location: Plymouth, MN

Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistants to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and other healthcare professionals by performing both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and updating patient charts.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and as permitted by state law.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), draw blood, and remove sutures or change dressings.
- Administrative Duties:
- Greet and check in patients, verify personal and insurance information, and manage patient flow.
- Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and respond to patient inquiries.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMRs), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Handle billing, coding, and insurance claims processing.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked and clean.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus, but not required.
- Medical Assisting Diploma from an accredited program.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and perform clinical tasks.
- Visual and auditory ability to observe and communicate with patients effectively.
