A professional Registered Nurse (RN) is sought to provide expert patient care in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting. This role emphasizes delivering safe, effective, and family-centered care while ensuring quality outcomes and fostering patient satisfaction. The RN is responsible for supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, implementing evidence-based practices, and contributing to a financially stable unit through efficient resource management. This position is offered on a contract basis in Shelbyville, KY.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments and reassessments to make sound clinical decisions.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patients responses to clinical interventions continuously.
- Coordinate and provide education tailored to patient and family needs during care and at discharge.
- Lead and delegate tasks effectively to licensed and non-licensed personnel, serving as a mentor and preceptor.
- Promote teamwork and communicate improvement opportunities to enhance quality, safety, and service processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in practice governance frameworks.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with PACU experience preferred.
- Ability to independently assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or precepting staff.
- Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices and quality improvement processes.
