Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and tracking the progress of all active customer programs at PTI Tech, ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and properly documented from kick-off through production launch.
This role manages project timelines, task tracking, and reporting through Monday.com and other PTI Tech systems, ensuring visibility and accountability across all departments. The Project Manager supports the Project Engineering Manager by taking ownership of follow-up, reporting, and organization tasks, allowing the technical team to focus on engineering and customer-facing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination & Scheduling
- Build, update, and maintain detailed project timelines in Monday.com.
- Track daily progress, identify at-risk tasks, and proactively follow up to keep milestones on schedule.
- Coordinate project meetings, ensuring agendas, notes, and action items are clearly documented and completed.
- Support schedule recovery plans by helping teams identify creative solutions to regain lost time.
- Reporting & Metrics
- Generate weekly and monthly project status reports that summarize schedule, cost, and progress.
- Track and report on cost variances, schedule slips, and project risks.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve delivery speed or reduce project overages.
- Customer & Internal Communication
- Provide written customer updates and follow-up emails on project progress, under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager.
- Coordinate internal communication between Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Operations, and Purchasing to ensure alignment and progress tracking.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure updates are visible to all stakeholders.
- Support for Project Engineering Manager
- Handle non-technical project coordination tasks such as scheduling, document routing, and status reporting.
- Maintain organized project files and ensure consistency across systems.
- Prepare project summaries, reports, and dashboards for internal and leadership review.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and recommend improvements to PTI Tech’s project management workflows and tools.
- Participate in project post-mortems to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-Time Project Milestone Completion: ≥ 90%
- Action Item Closure Rate: ≥ 95% within due date
- Project Cost Variance: ≤ 5% from plan
- Customer Update Timeliness: 100% on schedule
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in project coordination, operations, or manufacturing.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), CAPM, or similar certification a plus but not required.
- Technical & Professional Skills
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, or assembly, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-up discipline.
- Analytical mindset with ability to identify schedule or cost risks and recommend solutions.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and general project tracking tools.
