Job DescriptionJoin the Team at Rootstown Veterinary Hospital!
Rootstown Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, three-doctor private practice where high-quality medicine meets a genuine family feel. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our clients and their "fur babies," and we are looking for an enthusiastic, kind, and team-oriented Receptionist to join our amazing front-desk staff.
Why Rootstown Vet Hospital?
We believe that to take great care of our patients, we have to take great care of our people. We are an established practice that fosters a supportive, inclusive environment where work-life balance is valued, laughter is encouraged, and mutual respect is a must!
The Role
As the face of our hospital, your mission is to provide a warm welcome and expert guidance to our community. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Client Advocacy: Greeting pets and owners, providing education on protocols/products, and managing the check-in/out process.
  • Clinic Coordination: Managing multiple phone lines, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean, professional lobby.
  • Administrative Excellence: Processing cash and card transactions and staying organized in a fast-paced environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced: Previous experience in the veterinary field is required.
  • Composed: You maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor, even during the "busy" hours.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with multi-line phone systems and veterinary software.
  • Reliable: You are a dependable professional who takes pride in showing up for your team and your community.

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive package designed to support your well-being and professional growth:

  • Financial Security: IRA 401(k) plan with company match (for full-time staff) and opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
  • Health & Wellness: Bi-weekly health insurance stipend and Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Pet Perks: Generous discounts on exams, procedures, lab work, and medications.
  • Growth & Culture: Annual uniform allowance, team outings and holiday parties.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance
We value your time away from the clinic. This position could average 35-38 hours per week.

  • Hours: Monday – Friday (8 am – 5 pm/6 pm).
  • Weekends: Every other Saturday (8 am – 12 pm).
  • Reliable Time Off: Fixed days off are Sunday and Wednesday.
  • Recharge: 30-minute scheduled lunch breaks.
  • Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

About Our Hospital
Rootstown Veterinary Hospital is a full-service, AAHA-accredited practice where high-quality medicine meets a genuine family feel. Since opening our doors in 2013, we have been dedicated to offering the best value in veterinary care through advanced surgical, diagnostic, and medical technology—all while maintaining the personal touch of a privately owned clinic.
Our Philosophy of Care
We understand that a pet is more than just an animal; they are a beloved member of the family. That’s why we’ve designed our facility to be a one-stop resource for the community, providing quality care, and fair service prices. We strive to create an environment where clients feel heard and "fur babies" feel safe.
Driven by Teamwork & Culture
We believe that exceptional patient care begins with a supported and happy team. At Rootstown, we prioritize a positive work-life balance, foster an inclusive environment, and make sure there is always room for laughter (and plenty of dog kisses) throughout the day. We aren't just colleagues; we are a dedicated group of professionals who truly enjoy working together.
Heart for the Community
Our commitment to animals extends beyond our clinic walls. We are incredibly proud of our long-standing partnership with Rose’s Rescue. We have worked hand-in-hand with this amazing organization to provide medical care and support for cats and dogs on their journey to finding their fur-ever homes.
