- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370 (competitive travel nursing pay)\n
- Location: Portsmouth, VA (23707) — Portsmouth / Hampton Roads healthcare opportunity\n
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 29, 2026)\n
- Shift: 12-hour days, Monday–Friday\n
- Hours per Week: 36\n
- On-Call: Minimum 14 days per month (including weekends); STEMI response required\n
\n\nRequired Qualifications — Cath Lab RN / Cardiac Cath Lab Experience\n
- \n
- At least 1 year RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR\n
- 2 years of recent cath lab experience strongly preferred for cardiac cath lab roles\n
- Current RN license in Virginia or multistate compact RN license\n
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIH Stroke Certification preferred)\n
- Ability to respond to STEMI callbacks within 30 minutes\n
- Locals within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel nursing assignment\n
- EP (electrophysiology) experience is a plus but not required\n
- Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam required\n
\n\nResponsibilities — Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)\n
- \n
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments for cardiac and vascular patients\n
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in the cath lab setting\n
- Circulate and scrub for diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures\n
- Safely administer medications and monitor patient responses and hemodynamics\n
- Assist with advanced cardiac procedures including balloon pump, Impella, IVUS, TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman, atherectomy, angiography, and stenting\n
- Participate in on-call system for emergency and urgent cardiac procedures, including STEMI activations\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient/family education related to cath procedures and recovery\n
- Maintain patient safety, adhere to infection control protocols, and demonstrate adaptability in high-acuity situations\n
