Required Skills & Experience
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of related experience in equipment support or Master’s degree and 3+ years of related experience.
Experience with any type of wafer fab (fabricator) equipment – vacuum, RF, robotics, and high purity gas systems.
Experience working in a semi-conductor factory.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for process/equipment interactions.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Equipment experience in a compound semiconductor manufacturing environment or MEMs fab is preferred.
Job Description
One of our largest semi-conductor clients is looking for an Equipment Engineer to join their team. As an Equipment Engineer with the Optical Systems Division (OSD), you will work with an operations team to source, install, improve, and sustain wafer fabrication equipment and infrastructure. This includes photolithography, epitaxy, dry etch, wet etch, and thin-film deposition for indium phosphide laser and detector device manufacturing. You will be responsible for equipment used to develop advanced processes in our wafer fabrication facility. You will team up with Technology Development, Process Engineering and Production Operations teams to achieve this objective. You will be responsible for establishing robust equipment and processes through rigorous characterization and statistical validation before ramping them into high-volume manufacturing. This person will be both on the technical troubleshooting and process side. This is a permanent position, 5 days a week onsite in Breinigsville, PA. Compensation range is from $90,000-$140,000.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership in identifying, evaluating, installing, improving, and maintaining equipment.
Select, accept, and start up new equipment; optimize hardware and software; confer with equipment vendors and manufacturing engineers in-house.
Upgrade existing equipment and provide qualification support.
Develop and implement preventative, predictive, and high-precision maintenance procedures. Implementation includes documenting procedures, as well as training and certifying personnel.
