Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dynamic opportunity is available for Special Education professionals to support a variety of student needs within K-12 schools in the Denver area. This full-time contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in multiple roles, serving students across different grade levels and special education areas. Start dates for assignments vary, running through the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Highlights:
- Locations: Multiple schools including Rocky Mountain Elementary, Thunder Vista P-8, Century Middle School, and Thornton Middle School
- Roles: Affective Needs Teacher, Learning Specialist, Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher, and Learning Specialist positions
- Caseload: Students ranging from elementary to middle school with diverse special education needs, including cognitive and affective support
- Schedule: Full-time (35+ hours per week)
- Duration: Contract through the end of the school year (varied start dates from ASAP to January 5, 2026)
- On-site requirement
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) Special Education certification
- Experience working with special education students; ranging from entry-level (0-2 years) to seasoned educators (10+ years)
- Ability to address diverse learning needs including affective and significant cognitive support
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborating with school staff to ensure compliant and effective programming
- Maintaining accurate records and progress reports
- Providing direct instruction and support to students in inclusive or specialized settings
