Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leadership role is available for a licensed Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) specializing in Home Infusion within a well-established pharmacy setting. This position offers the opportunity to oversee and direct all pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving future business growth and maintaining financial stability. The PIC will lead the pharmacy management team, manage staffing needs, and support operational excellence.
Location: Ankeny, IA
Job Type: Contract to Hire (13 weeks temp-to-perm or direct hire options)
Schedule: Primarily Day Shift with 24-hour availability for staff guidance and pharmacy services
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing pharmaceutical products and managing ancillary supplies and equipment
- Ensure adequate staffing to maintain operational hours and perform pharmacy personnel duties as necessary
- Enforce compliance with all policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards
- Lead development and periodic review of pharmacy policies and procedures
- Manage orientation and training programs for pharmacy staff
- Participate in on-site inspections, survey readiness, and accreditation processes
- Maintain clear communication with staff and perform administrative duties involving sustained computer use, filing, and occasional physical tasks such as lifting and bending
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or PharmD from an accredited Pharmacy School
- Active Iowa Pharmacist License; additional state licenses are advantageous
- Minimum 4 years recent clinical pharmacy experience with required home infusion expertise
- Preferably 2+ years clinical pharmacy management experience
- Familiarity with CPR+ software is a plus
