Job Title: RN – Pediatric ICU (PICU)
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3 shifts per week
Duration: 14 Weeks
Hours: 34.5 hours per week
Pay Rate:
- Local: Up to $2,811/week (Based on experience)
- Travel: Up to $3,473/week (Based on experience)
Job Summary
A leading healthcare facility in New York City is seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 14-week night shift assignment. This role involves delivering high-acuity pediatric and maternal-child nursing care in a fast-paced critical care environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in pediatric and maternal-child nursing, along with advanced clinical competencies in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide safe, effective, and family-centered critical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric ICU and maternal-child patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate complex patient care plans
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as needed
- Administer medications and closely monitor patient responses
- Support and assist with conscious sedation procedures per protocol
- Continuously monitor vital signs, telemetry, and patient condition
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient status
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams on treatment planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Educate families on patient care plans and updates
- Ensure adherence to infection control and ICU safety standards
- Operate and manage specialized critical care equipment
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Valid AHA BLS Certification
- Valid AHA PALS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of maternal and child nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- Ability to work in a high-acuity PICU environment
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and communication)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience strongly preferred
- Additional acute or critical care hospital experience
