Job DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable and professional Receptionist / Accounts Support Clerk to serve as the first point of contact for our industrial oil and gas supply operation. This role combines traditional front-desk responsibilities with basic accounts receivable and collection support, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable having professional payment-related conversations with customers while supporting daily office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers, vendors, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer and route incoming phone calls and emails
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment
- Assist with customer account inquiries and basic account maintenance
- Support accounts receivable and collection efforts, including:
- Contacting customers regarding past-due invoices
- Sending payment reminders and follow-up communications
- Documenting collection activity and customer responses
- Coordinating with accounting or management on account status
- Receive, process, and distribute mail, invoices, and office documents
- Maintain accurate customer records and filing systems
- Assist with data entry and administrative tasks as needed
- Follow company policies, confidentiality requirements, and office procedures
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and customer-focused attitude
- Basic computer skills (email, data entry, Microsoft Office preferred)
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
- Comfortable discussing payment status and account balances professionally
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
This is a temp-to-hire position with a starting pay rate of $12 per hour until trained.
