We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Assistant Director to join our team and help lead our early childhood education program. The Assistant Director will support the Preschool Director in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and maintaining high-quality educational standards. This role involves assisting with curriculum planning, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and parent communication. This role has a shift time of 10:00am - 6:00pm, Monday -Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Assist the Director in managing day-to-day operations, including scheduling, enrollment, and record-keeping.
  • Staff Supervision & Development: Support teachers and staff by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Supervise closing staff and ensure the building is secure at the end of each day.
  • Curriculum & Program Development: Collaborate with the teaching staff to implement and enhance developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets state licensing standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Parent & Community Relations: Communicate effectively with parents regarding their childs progress, school policies, and upcoming events. Assist in organizing family engagement activities.
  • Classroom Support: Step in as needed to provide hands-on support in classrooms and maintain a positive, nurturing learning environment.
  • General Support: Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties that might be necessary in the event other personnel are not available.
  • Health & Safety: Monitor and maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for children and staff. Implement emergency procedures when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an early childhood education setting, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of Texas state licensing requirements and early childhood best practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelors degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred, current holding of a childcare administrators certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in curriculum planning and program development.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and classroom management techniques.
  • Proficiency in using childcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
