Job Description:
The Curriculum Development Coordinator will lead the design, structuring, and implementation of cybersecurity-focused technical and compliance training for the TECHGATE initiative. This position requires a strong background in instructional design, especially in workforce development or adult learning contexts. The coordinator will work closely with technical subject-matter experts (SMEs), compliance advisors, and delivery teams to produce modular training pathways that integrate simulations, lab-based exercises, and certification-aligned content.
The successful candidate will ensure training programs are relevant, engaging, and aligned with industry standards (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC) to prepare small businesses for cyber resilience and government contracting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end cybersecurity training modules, including learning objectives, assessment rubrics, and lab activities.
- Collaborate with technical experts to convert PKI, remote attestation, and loss-of-trust scenarios into practical lab exercises.
- Ensure curriculum aligns with federal cybersecurity frameworks such as CMMC Level 2, NIST SP 800-171, and related compliance standards.
- Develop both instructor-led and asynchronous course materials, including slide decks, facilitator guides, student workbooks, and knowledge checks.
- Coordinate pilot testing and feedback collection to continuously improve the learning experience.
- Support the development of a train-the-trainer program to enable scale across multiple delivery regions.
- Maintain an organized content repository and version control system for training modules.
- Collaborate with Monitoring & Evaluation staff to ensure measurable learning outcomes and skill acquisition.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Cybersecurity Education, Adult Learning, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing technical training, preferably in the cybersecurity or IT compliance space.
- Proficiency in instructional design models such as ADDIE or SAM.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Rise).
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into accessible, engaging instructional content.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity Education, Instructional Technology, or related discipline.
- Prior experience supporting government-funded training or small business technical assistance programs.
- Familiarity with cyber range tools, virtual lab environments, and simulation-based learning approaches.
- Experience developing training related to PKI, secure communications, and real-world incident response scenarios.
