At Naval Base Point Loma (NBPL), SA-TECH provides O&M support for home-ported Range Support Crafts (RSC) vessels. Located on the Point Loma peninsula in the city of San Diego, NBPL is a major U.S. Navy base, housing over 70 tenant commands, including submarines, a floating dry dock, and various other military units.
The RSCs provide fleet training support for the Southern California Tactical Training Range (SCTTR) in the San Clemente Island Range Complex (SCIRC) W-291 area.
SA-TECH is seeking to hire an on-site Logistician at NBPL to participate in, and provide support, to include project planning and management, monitoring cost, schedule and progress.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
- Reports to Port Captain.
- Oversees purchasing and inventory functions and supports procurement of required parts and supplies for the RSCs.
- Responsible for reporting and tracking all purchases and reporting any discrepancies to the Government.
- Responsible for the accuracy of all site-specific purchasing and inventory-related documents presented to the Government.
- Manage GFE asset inventories, maintain adequate inventory or supplies and spare parts to support scheduled operations.
- Works directly with the Government to coordinate and plan the O&M schedule for RSC-1, RSC-3, and RSC-4 and provide purchase updates for the Government-related ODC items.
- Responsible for managing HAZMAT and HAZWASTE processes.
- Inventory, track and oversee final disposition of excessed materials to DRMO/DLA.
- Additional administrative duties as assigned.
Work Conditions:
- Work is performed in a fast-paced military office environment in enclosed buildings and will require sitting, reaching and standing and other office-type physical activity.
- Will spend much of the time at a computer.
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required (preferred Master's degree in Business Management or Engineering).
- Prior experience as Supply Technician, Purchaser, and/or Logistician is required.
- Prior military experience desired.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with and navigating FAR/DFARS Contractor requirements.
- Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a SECRET clearance throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
