Robotics Technician | Kentwood, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial robotic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software issues in robots.
  • Install, calibrate, and commission new robotic equipment and work cells.
  • Program and teach robot paths, points, and sequences for manufacturing tasks.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure optimal robot performance and safety compliance.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineers to optimize robot processes and resolve complex problems.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in programming, operating, and troubleshooting industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) using teach pendants and PLCs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic robot components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics and diagrams.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis or custom tool development.
  • Familiarity with industrial network protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
  • Basic CAD software proficiency for interpreting layouts and tooling designs.
