Job Description

A Nuclear Medical Technician administers radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic imaging purposes. Responsibilities include preparing and handling radioactive materials, performing scans, and assisting doctors in interpreting results.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the daily functions of the Nuclear Medicine Laboratory.
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain Siemens Biograph Vision PET/CT equipment.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families about nuclear medicine procedures and answer related questions.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and monitor patients during procedures.
  • Ensure proper testing, calibration, and quality control of nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.


Process Improvement & Project Management:

  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance HR operations, reporting systems, and workflows.
  • Track and manage key HR projects and initiatives, ensuring timely progress and completion.
  • Assist leadership with change management, reporting, and governance communications.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine
  • Post-secondary certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
  • ARRT-R certification not required
  • Radiologic Technologist License issued by the New York State Department of Health
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • Associate’s Degree required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)


Important Details:

  • 9-week contract position (possibly to get extended)
  • Tue - Fri (10 AM - 6 PM), and Sat (7 AM - 3 PM), 8x5 hours/day and 37.5 hours per week
  • Location is New York City, NY 10029
  • Hourly Pay Range - $84 - $88
