A licensed residential plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in homes, ensuring compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations. This role involves working to provide high-quality maintenance, explaining repair options to tenants, organizing and deliberating responsibilities with coworkers, and ensuring long-term plumbing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain residential plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems.
- Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Respond to service and repair calls, handling complex plumbing jobs as needed.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential plumbing failures before they occur.
- Ensure all work complies with state and local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
- Use advanced plumbing tools and technology to increase efficiency and service quality.
- Drive a company-provided service truck and maintain a safe driving record.
- Train and mentor junior plumbers or apprentices when applicable.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid New Jersey Master plumbing license in accordance with state requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of residential plumbing systems and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, plumbing codes, and regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using plumbing tools, diagnostic equipment, and modern service software.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
