Job Description

Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator

East Bay Area, CA | Full-site outpatient surgery leadership

This is not just an administrator role. This is a chance to run the business of surgery.

You'll step into a high-visibility outpatient surgical center where clinical quality, physician relationships, financial performance, team culture, and patient experience all connect. The right leader will know how to keep operations moving, build trust with physicians and staff, and make the center stronger from both a care delivery and business performance standpoint.

What you'll do?

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of an ambulatory surgery center, including staffing, workflow, financial performance, patient experience, quality, and compliance
  • Partner closely with physicians, clinical leaders, governing board members, and corporate support teams to keep the center aligned, accountable, and moving forward
  • Own the operating rhythm of the facility, from budgets and contracts to staffing plans, service line needs, physician engagement, and performance goals
  • Support a culture where employees feel led, patients feel cared for, and physicians feel confident bringing cases to the center
  • Keep quality, safety, infection control, regulatory readiness, and operational efficiency connected instead of treating them like separate priorities

Why you should consider this role?

  • This is a true site-level leadership seat where your decisions directly shape the center's performance, culture, and reputation
  • You'll work in a fast-moving outpatient surgery environment where strong operators can make a visible impact without getting buried in big-hospital layers
  • The role offers a mix of business leadership and healthcare mission, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both numbers and people
  • You'll have the opportunity to build strong physician partnerships, improve team accountability, and help the center grow in a thoughtful, sustainable way
  • This is a strong next step for a proven ASC leader or surgical services operator who wants full ownership of a facility, not just one department

Who can be successful in this role?

  • A healthcare operations leader with at least 2 years of ambulatory surgery center experience, or hospital surgical leadership experience with strong exposure to ASC operations
  • Someone who understands how surgical centers production functions, stay compliant, support physicians, manage staffing, and deliver a strong patient experience
  • A leader who can balance relationships with accountability, especially when working with physicians, staff, vendors, and senior stakeholders
  • Someone who is comfortable owning budgets, reviewing performance, solving operational issues, and making decisions that affect the entire facility
  • A steady, hands-on operator who can lead from the floor when needed, but still think strategically about growth, quality, and long-term performance
