Vice President of Business Development - Miami/Broward
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Business Development will lead growth efforts within the South Florida private sector market, with a focus on the Miami-Dade and Broward County regions. This role encompasses the full business development cycle-including market research, relationship building, proposal coordination, and contract negotiation-while ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and core service offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Strategy & Project Pursuit

Develop and implement targeted business development strategies specific to the private sector in South Florida, with an emphasis on markets such as multifamily, high-rise, hospitality, retail, and healthcare.

Perform detailed market analyses to identify key trends, potential clients, and priority opportunities.

Partner with internal teams including preconstruction, operations, and marketing to create and execute effective pursuit plans.

Monitor competitor activity and industry developments to inform and strengthen the business pipeline.
Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, architects, brokers, and consultants across the region.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and cultivate connections.

Gather and communicate client needs to internal teams to ensure top-tier service and relationship management.
Internal Leadership

Facilitate pursuit planning sessions and business development strategy meetings.

Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding pipeline activity and strategic pursuits.

Collaborate with executive leadership to refine the company's market position within Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Proposal & Presentation Oversight

Direct the development of qualifications packages, RFP/RFQ responses, and tailored marketing collateral.

Work in coordination with Marketing and Estimating departments to deliver high-quality submission materials.

Lead client presentations and interviews, articulating the firm's value proposition and competitive advantages.
Branding & Outreach

Strengthen the company's brand presence in the region through sponsorships, industry organization involvement, and community engagement.

Support marketing and communications strategies, including social media, media relations, and event participation.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the construction industry, focusing on the private sector.

Experience with public sector markets is a plus, but not required.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing, and securing major construction projects.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.

Strong network within Miami's commercial development community.

Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Cosential), Microsoft Office, and proposal software.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Prior experience in construction operations is advantageous.
